Puppy weight calculator
Weight, age in weeks, breed size — get a predicted adult weight and see where your puppy sits on the growth curve. Saves on this device.
Math: current weight ÷ (% of adult weight for this age and size). The percentages come straight from the AKC puppy growth chart, which AKC itself calls approximate. This list covers AKC's four published weight classes — it doesn't grow per-breed yet. Estimate only — not a vet measurement.

Got the size estimate — now a playful reply
A projected adult weight is a nice number to have, but it doesn't do anything with the puppy in front of you. Open Dog & Cat Translator Pro, speak or tap, and play a bark or meow back while you wait for them to grow into it. Entertainment only; it does not track weight or decode a real bark.

After the estimate, talk back
Keep the predicted size in mind, then open the app on your iPhone. Speak a line or tap a ready sound — it plays dog- and cat-like sounds back in real time. That is the whole loop: calculator for the growth math, app for a playful reply. Free to download on iOS 16 or newer; key sound features need the $9.99/year subscription shown in the App Store before you pay.
Why size class changes the whole curve
A 12-week-old puppy at 60% of its adult weight looks nothing like one at 60% for a different size class — the AKC puppy growth chart puts a small breed at 75% grown by 6 months, a medium breed at 66%, a large breed at 60%, and an X-Large breed at just 50%. Pick the wrong size class and the back-solved adult weight shifts a lot — that's the whole reason this calculator asks before it does any math, instead of guessing from weight alone.
Timing matters too. AKC's puppy growth timeline notes small and medium breeds are usually done growing well before their large and giant counterparts, who can keep filling out past their first birthday. Check back at each new weigh-in — the estimate tightens every time you re-run it closer to 6 months.

Size estimated — reply in their sounds
No app replaces a scale or a vet visit for a real growth check. Once you've got the estimate, open Dog & Cat Translator Pro and tap a reply instead of just staring at the number. Same entertainment toy either way — it plays sounds; it does not track weight or growth.

Frequently asked questions
It's an estimate, not a measurement. This tool runs AKC's own published growth-by-percentage chart — which AKC itself labels "approximate" — backward from your puppy's current weight. Individual dogs, especially mixed breeds, can land outside the curve. Treat the number as a planning range, not a guarantee.
