Privacy Policy

Dog Translator: Bark & Play("the App", "we") is built and maintained by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App collects, why, and how it's handled.
What the App does not do
The App does not require an account, has no login, and does not collect your name, email address, or contact information. The recordings you make of your dog are created for the App's entertainment effect and are handled on your device as described below.
Data not linked to your identity
Apple's App Privacy label on the App Store listing is the authoritative summary of what the App collects, and this policy is kept consistent with it. The label declares the following data, which may be collected but is not linked to your identity:
- Purchases — if you subscribe or request a refund, Apple shares limited purchase activity with us (such as anonymous account identifiers and purchase or refund amounts) so we can manage subscriptions through the App Store.
- Identifiers — a device-level identifier used to keep the App working across sessions and to attribute installs and diagnostics. It is not tied to your name or account.
- Usage data— aggregate, anonymised information about how the App is used, via Apple's built-in App Store analytics.
- Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data, used only to fix bugs and improve stability.
Data used to track you
The App Privacy label also declares that one category of data may be used to track you, in Apple's sense of the word — that is, linked with third-party data for advertising or measurement:
- Identifiers — a device or advertising identifier that may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
iOS controls this through App Tracking Transparency: where tracking applies, the system asks for your permission first, and you can review or change it any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you do not grant permission, this identifier is not used to track you.
Microphone & recordings
To create a “translation,” the App needs microphone access so it can capture your dog's sounds. iOS asks for your permission first, and you can change it any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Recordings are processed on your device for the entertainment effect and stored in the App; they are not uploaded to us or sold. If the App later offers optional syncing or sharing, that is under your control and described in-app.
Photos you add
If you add a photo to a dog profile, it stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it. The App only accesses photos you pick yourself.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children specifically and collects no personal information from any user regardless of age, per the data practices described above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at this same URL.
